I haven’t done a life lately post in awhile and a lot has happened around here! In case you didn’t know it, we live on a 20 acre farm in between my husband’s parents and grandparent’s. I love living in the country, surrounded by nature, animals and family. It’s a beautiful place to raise children!
First up, this cutie. How is she almost 28 months already? She has changed so much just since her second birthday. She is constantly talking and learns a few new words everyday. She loves all animals especially cats and her cows. She is very shy around adults but loves all other children. She knows all barnyard animals + pets by name and can make their sound. We are working on wild animals now. She can count to 6 and loves singing the alphabet, even though it makes no sense! She loves to eat, Mexican being her favorite. Sour cream could be it’s own food group for her! She won’t touch grilled cheese or pizza, two of the things I’m craving right now! She is a great sleeper. She goes to bed around 7:30 and sleeps for 12+ hours a night and takes one 1.5-2 hour nap a day. We still have her in a crib until the new baby comes then we’ll transfer her to a toddler bed or possibly straight to a twin. She is the sweetest kid and I can’t wait to see her become a big sister. Oh and her favorite color is pink! She only wants to wear pink shoes these days.
Two out of the three heifers have had their calves! They are just two weeks old this week. We are hoping the third drops any day! She is very large and clearly pregnant. The bull was only here for one month so it should be anytime.
We have a name for the little brown one – Mocha. I am in charge of naming the black calf but can’t think of anything good! I wanted to call her Princess Beyonce but that was vetoed. Any ideas!?
Parker loves calling her cows up to the fence. She yells come here baby. It’s probably the cutest thing ever!
**Update – since I wrote this on Monday, the third baby has been born! We don’t know if it’s a boy or girl yet. She is also all black.
Parker’s Papa built the most amazing garden and play area this spring. We have everything planted and just got the soaker system installed this last weekend. We spend most of our time out here swinging and watching the plants grow! We planted strawberries, tomatoes, 3 different kids of lettuce, broccoli, peas, beans, carrots, onions, garlic, potatoes and radishes. I’m excited for lots of fresh salads!
I’m going to leave you with a couple more photos of Parker around the farm (in case you haven’t gotten enough!). Hope you’re having a great week. Don’t forget to help me name that baby cow! Leave a comment below.
