There are a few words that come to mind when I think about fall in the Pacific Northwest – rain, coffee, boots, and plaid! I’ve been wearing plaid since the 90’s with my lace black boots. My mom is glad my rocker phase didn’t last long! Now plaid is a closet staple not just for rockers or hipsters. Although, Luke does call me a hipster because I wear glasses and drive a VW! Regardless, it looks great on everyone. It’s easy to dress up or down. My new favorite online boutique, BohoBlu, has a great selection of plaid!
This plaid button up from BohoBlu is the perfect layering piece for fall. I’ve worn it with my army green jacket, under a boyfriend cardi and I can’t wait to wear it with my new green vest! It’s a great combination of blue and green with hints of dark mustard and red. On the elbows is a mauve colored, crocheted elbow patch. It’s the perfect girly detail! I styled it simply with jeans and a white tee. Then threw on a chunky infiniti scarf for an extra layer of warmth. A great easy outfit for daily wear.
Please tell me I’m not the only mom that wears dresses as tops? It opens up so many possibilities that would other wise not work for my lifestyle. Short dresses are out at least until we’re out of the toddler stage! I paired my BohuBlu Novella Dress with a plaid jacket for a fun, casual look. This dress is so soft and such a pretty olive color. The fabric almost has a suede look to it. I am obsessed with the Thatcher Jacket. It has zippers on the sides so you can customize the fit. I’m wearing a large and it is very roomy. Perfect for layering with big sweaters this winter.
Is plaid a staple in your wardrobe? How would you style these pieces?
