Fall and winter clothes are my favorite. I love layering, boots and all the pretty colors that come along with the seasons. My love for shopping during these months transferred over to my daughter’s closet! If you are short on space like we are, this post is for you! I’m sharing the steps I used to prepare Parker’s closet for the next season and why it’s important to stock up on Huggies Little Movers Plus at Costco.
Does anyone else feel like a better mom when the house is clean and organized? I know I do. It gives me more time to spend playing and enjoying the fleeting moments of the baby/toddler years. Even the simplest thing, like an organized closet, can save so much time every day.
Things You’ll Need:
Baby Closet Dividers (optional)
Step 1. Take out anything with stains or holes and throw it away! You know you will never get around to removing the stains or fixing it.
Step 2. Donate or store anything that is too small, out of season, a previous holiday or birthday related. I chose to store all of Parker’s old items. I’m hoping that hubby comes around to the idea of another baby soon. I want to have all of this, just in case.
Step 3. Donate any items that never got worn or will never get worn. Maybe you have someone in the family that buys clothes for your little one and they aren’t your taste? Don’t feel bad, just put it in the donate pile!
Step 4. Remove the tags and wash anything new for the upcoming season. If you’re anything like me, you received clothes in all sizes for your baby shower. I’m still removing tags for 18-24 month items.
Step 5. Replace any mismatched hangers with white hangers (or whatever color you like). Toss out any of the plastic hangers that came with the clothing.
Step 6. Pull out any items you aren’t sure fit and try them on your child. Parker is in a weird stage right now – she’s a lot taller than she was last winter but about the same weight. Most of her dresses still fit from last year.
Step 7. Make your life easier and invest in closet tags! I got mine on Etsy and love them. They go from newborn-24 months and make organizing and finding sizes a breeze.
**Step 8. Stock up on Huggies Little Snugglers Plus or Huggies Little Movers Plus at Costco. Fall and winter bring a change in weather. The last thing I want is to run out of diapers in a snow storm!
Step 9. Don’t forget to clean out the dresser too. Look for pants that are too short, socks that are too small, and any accessories, like hats, that are out of season and pack them away or donate.
I ended up with a tote full of items to store, two bags to donate and a few trash items. It feels good to have a clean and organized closet for Parker. Now I want to tackle the rest of the house!
**I choose to buy our diapers from Costco because the value is outstanding and Huggies is a brand I trust. Huggies Little Snugglers Plus and Huggies Little Movers Plus are the most absorbent diapers (with 12 hour Leak Lock protection) and are only available at Costco. Right now you can find amazing deals on them!
